So I have become used to doing intercity travel on the Greyhound. I get on and can read, listen to music or just zone out.
Can I drive to where I am going for less money? Probably! But I like not having to do much once I am on the bus. Commuting with others is environmentally the right thing to do.
Given that there is an environmental component to travelling in such a way, it is ironic that I saw some unenvironmentally- friendly activity. In both the Kamloops and Vancouver bus depots, Greyhound workers put plastic bottles in garbage cans. Why didn't they put the bottles in a recycle bin or leave them for someone to pick up? While I didn't have time to look around, from where I was at, I couldn't see any recycling bins.
That is not to say that Greyhound doesn't have recycle bins in the depots. My question is if they are there why aren't they more accessible to both Greyhound workers and riders?
Taking care of the environment is a 2010 activity; that means commuting and recycling!
